me on the wheel again
just playing around in the mud really...
I first started in ceramics when I was in middle school. I volunteered at an art camp for kids. I helped kids with the wheel and did a lot of handbuilding. I volunteered throughout my high school years, every summer until I graduated.
I didn't pick up ceramics again until 2021, until one day I happened to walk by a ceramics studio in LA. The pandemic had shifted my life and career goals, and I suddenly found some time to put into something I had nearly forgotten entirely. I sat in on one of the classes, and I was hooked again. With a newfound vigor, eager to expand and improve my ceramics skills, I set about classes and membership to the studio. I suddenly wanted to make everything and spend as much time in the studio as I could afford.
And so here I am, hands and pants covered in clay, just spending my time slingin' mud.
